Remember when I used to update this site on a regular basis? That was peachy wasn’t it? The best of times and what… Then I had to go get married, a full time job (that didn’t involve running my own show, blogging on the job is easy when you report to yourself) and a cat (a true indication that you have entered married life officially is when you get a cat, this has been scientifically proven, somewhere (maybe wikipedia? When is that place wrong?)). Truth be told though I really do miss working on this site more and I’m going to make an effort to be updating it more often…
With that said I’m working on adding some new content pages and updating the old ones (I’ve been using the same profile now for the last two versions of RJOWorld) so there will be some exciting times coming for my site’s three readers (by the way… how the hell does this site get 150-300 non-bot uniques a month… you are all sick people). Exciting times indeed!
So that’s the site… how and what am I doing?
Busy times here in O’Sullivan land. Work is going great, I’ve been taking on additional responsibilities at work (regional analyst stuff) which has been awesome and keeping me busy M-F 9-5. Outside of work we’ve been super busy with finishing up after the move. I believe it was 2 weekends ago now that we finally got the house almost completely unpacked. Now we just have a boat load of cleaning to do to get everything set up as we want it. That’ll be a long process but we are starting to make progress.
So.. expect more of the site… I’ll be starting to comment more on whats in the news, etc soon to keep things interesting
EDIT – I’ve added a site plan file. It lists things I want to add and gives me some focus
Ugh… So I’m the type of person who is always speaking out against social sites (in fact when Jim first sent me the invitation to twitter my response was “Is this some hippy social site?”) and preaching in the streets about how much I dislike them. One in particular people have been harping on for months now that I should join and I’ve responded with the ever the intelligent “no way those sites are gay” is Facebook. So it is with a bit of humbleness that I make this post…
I was over at my parents place on the weekend and before leaving I stopped by my sisters room to see what she was up to (ok so I wanted to piss her off, but that’s what brothers are all about) and sure enough she was on facebook (when is she not really?)… I proceeded into my normal rant about the “gayness” and “you are such a loser”ism’s that normally occur when I happen across someone one a social networking site. My sister was having none of it, she told me to check out all the people who use it who’d been asking about me (this is where I’ll not mention a certain picture of me wearing a star trek uniform as a kid).
As we started going through all the people on there I started to realize that a good half of the people I knew in high school and through work over the years were using the site and in a moment of weakness brought on from missing some fairly long lost friends I sat with her and registered my name on the site. (This is where I’ll not mention how I had to defend myself regarding a certain picture not previously cough mentioned in this post).
So there… I’m on facebook now… you all win.
MySpace is still gay.
So my dad and I have been tooling around with our GPS trying to figure out a good way to show the places we’ve been. Enter the google maps api… I now will be adding mapping of the places we travel by ATV.
Also for your viewing pleasure I’ve added our two big trips from this past summer!

Coe Hill to Lake St. Peter
You might have noticed (my my aren’t you ever so observant) that I added a new item to the right bar a few days ago named “My Twitter”… Now that I’ve used the service a bit and decided that it’s a keeper I thought I’d make a quick post on here about it and invite everyone to join up!
Twitter is an odd social networking concept that basically takes the old IRC nickname changing to tell people what you are doing and puts it on speed. Twitter at its very core is a way for you to keep track of your friends and let people know what you are up to. I have found its a great way to keep in touch with my internet friends! You can also send updates from your cellphone so you can always be in touch as it will send people’s updates to your phone!
I know its overly geeky but it’s really pretty neat and you only have to use it as much as you like. Look me up and join up!
Well about 3 weeks ago now my computer died so I had no choice but to go out and get a new one. Because Windows Vista was coming out (the next day) all the computer shops were falling over themselves to get rid of PCs with XP and I was happy to take advantage (let’s just say I got a free extended warranty and 300 dollars off a computer that was priced in the mid 100′s).
Fast forward 3 weeks and now my hard drive has died
I took it into the shop yesterday and of course getting a replacement will take a week. Le sigh… I’m trying to help run a Vanguard guild and my “online time” has been pretty busy the last few weeks and now here I am computerless again…
Let’s hope they get it resolved quickly and I’ll be fully back in action!
So yesterday towards the end of the day I got a huge headache and on the bus ride home it just got worse as I started feeling nauseous (didn’t help the bus was packed and I had to stand the whole damn time)… So I come home and tell Tam that you know what, I need me some sleep… So I lay down to take a nap… and I woke up oh, at 7:15am…
13 hours of sleep is honestly the cure for pretty much everything… I woke up this morning feeling like gold… I just had to share that
Sometimes ya just really need sleep to balance ‘ya
Finally got a chance to work on the site a bit… updated the following sections:
Added:
Updated
- MMO Gaming
- Geocaching
I had put in a whole new geocaching section but when I saved it it vanished… so someday I’ll redo it again… for now, I’m just pissed at it
Now that I’m back in commission computer wise I figured I’d update everyone on what is going on with our recent move and our new house!
So Tammy and I moved into a town house last week and all I can say is it is fantastic! After the novelty of being in our first home together wore off our old apartment’s flaws became way too apparent to us and we just plain and simple didn’t like where we were living. Tammy and I who both grew up living in large spacious houses and just never adjusted to the high rise living (I don’t know how anyone could drop 300k on a condo anymore, I just can’t stand the lack of space).
So now here we are back at Castlegrove where we previously had been living with my parents (and where I’d grown up)! We have picked up a town house in my old neighborhood and it is so awesome to be back. Rockport Group the management company here did an A+ job in getting the place ready and we ended up with the place fully painted (in the colour we wanted) and ready to go.
It is night and day between where we were before and this new place. We honestly couldn’t be happier!
